Description
A quick and creamy Texas Roadhouse-inspired butter chicken skillet recipe, perfect for beginner cooks seeking a flavorful one-pan dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and fully cooked, about 8–10 minutes.
- Remove the chicken and set aside. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the same skillet.
- Pour in chicken broth and simmer for 2–3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Continue stirring until sauce thickens, about 3–4 minutes.
- Return cooked chicken to skillet and toss in the creamy sauce. Simmer together for 2–3 more minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- If the sauce is too thin, simmer uncovered a few extra minutes or add more Parmesan.
- Use pre-chopped or rotisserie chicken for faster prep.
- Smoked paprika adds depth, but regular paprika can be used in a pinch.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat with a splash of broth or cream.
