Ingredients
Scale
- 10 slices white sandwich bread
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 tablespoons butter for frying
Instructions
- Remove the crusts from each slice of bread and flatten them using a rolling pin.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon to create a spreadable filling.
- Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon mixture on each flattened bread slice, leaving a small border.
- Roll each slice tightly and press gently to seal the edges.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter.
- Dip each roll-up quickly in the egg mixture, coating all sides but not soaking it.
- Place each roll seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes, rotating until all sides are golden brown.
Notes
- Use fresh, soft bread to avoid cracking when rolling.
- Do not oversoak roll-ups in the egg mixture to maintain structure.
- Freeze extras and reheat in the toaster oven or air fryer.
- Rolls can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge overnight.
