Hi there and thanks for checking out my blog. My name is MJ Carlos, food lover, mum of two and currently residing in the inner west part of Sydney, Australia with my husband, my daughter and my son, the newest addition to our family.
As far as I can remember, I have always loved food, perhaps a little too much! The kitchen was my playground. I would sit on the kitchen floor and watch my grandparents prepare and cook our daily meal. Whilst I was too young to be interested in the preparation, I did and always had appreciated eating a home cooked meal. I really loved to eat and I still do.
I was born in Manila, Philippines 30 years ago. We were not well off, but as a young girl, it felt rich having my grandparents always looking after us and making sure that we always had a decent meal to eat everyday. I have very fond memories of going to the market with my grandmother to buy fresh vegetables and meat. I even had my own wicker basket that I carried along with me.
I started this blog in October 2010 to showcase my love and passion for all things culinary, whether it’s dining out or having a home cooked meal and also to share recipes from my own experience in the kitchen. I wanted to start a hobby I knew I could fall in love with and what better way to do it by writing about food. What’s more, I am able to connect with other food lovers out there!
I document and share my experiences with food openly and with honesty. I am by no means a professional in the kitchen, a writer or a photographer. Just a mum who loves to cook, bake and eat. One day, I do hope to share this wonderful hobby with my children.
