Oh yeah! Triple chocolate brownies! Does that sound good?
Hi everyone! I hope you’re all having a wonderful start to the week so far.
I had a doctor’s appointment on Monday and since this was also my day off, I thought I’d do some baking. My daughter wanted brownies so I decided to make them when we got home. Only if she promised to behave and take a nap did I make them :p I wanted brownies as well though. Teehee
I originally thought this to be a double chocolate brownie until I realised I have three different types of chocolates on my bench. I also wanted the white chocolates to stay on top, but they sank to the bottom during the baking process.
Triple Chocolate Brownies – makes 12
100g dark chocolate (chopped)
100g milk chocolate (chopped)
125g white chocolate (chopped)
250g butter (chopped)
4 eggs
1 3/4 cups of brown sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder (sifted)
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
1/4 tsp baking powder
Melt butter, dark and milk chocolates in a saucepan over low heat. Stir until completely melted and smooth. Set aside to cool.
Pre-heat oven to 160C and grease a brownie tray and line with baking paper (let the paper hang on the sides). I used a 26 cm x 18 cm tray.
In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder. Mix with a spatula. Add the eggs and mix thoroughly until batter is very thick and sticky. Add the melted butter and chocolates and stir until batter is smooth.
Pour mixture into the baking tray and spread evenly. Place white chocolates on top or you can mix them into the batter before pouring into the tray. Bake in the oven (middle shelf) for 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Leave in tray for about 30-45 minutes to cool slightly. Gently lift the brownie with the baking paper and place on a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
See? My white chocolate pieces disappeared. Engulfed by the rising brownie.
If you can wait long enough for the brownies to cool completely, you end up with nice, moist, big servings of yummy brownies. I couldn’t wait. I completely and utterly attacked the brownie edges. YUUUUMMMMM!!
